Stay motivated

You must be a good self starter" is one such phrase familiar among the corporate world. It is important tobe a self starter because a self-motivated employee requires less supervision springs back easily from set backs and is often more productive . We all go through moments of low energy at times. Inertia of this kind is a clear indication of flagging self motivation. You are an important source of motivation because you are where it all begins. Your thoughts , emotions, and behaviour determine how you react to a situation . If you allow negative thoughts to thrive you end up demotivating yourself. Often harbouring negative feelings such as "I will not be able to meet the deadline " or " I am miserable at righting reports " act as toxins that curb your efficiency. They undermine your confidence and enthusiasm to accomplish tasks. On the other hand positive thoughts are like tonics to motivation. They encourage you to perform true to your potential. Therefore to be a self-motivator you should know how to use your emotional system to your best advantage. To stay motivated you need strong belief in your abilities, tenacity to stay focussed and resilience to stage a comeback from temporary setbacks. Here is how you can develop these qualities . Say to yourself certain positive statements that you would like to hear from others. As part of human nature you often find fault with what you do and get discouraged. Replace self-criticism by positive self-criticism.
